Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    This is for a friend, she's not a member here so I told her I'd post up her questions.

    She needs a budget 'point and shot' camera.. Here's her email;

    What I want to use it for is:
    1) everyday stuff...indoors and outdoors. people and animals.
    2) some landscape. sunsets and stuff like that. u know i love those things. i'll probably also take some pics while driving so it needs to be able to work fast.
    3) video. needs video.

    price - up to 1000 shekels.

    (about €180-€200).

    I recommended a Sony Cybershot (W-170) based only on my experience with mine, but things might have moved on since.

    Taken with my little Sony;

    The pidgeon was on top of the Empire State Building NYC.

    Any suggestions for my friend?.

    Oh, the video in my signature link of my dogs was taken with the Sony too.

    Thanks.

    The Canon A1000 is pretty good but the older A series cameras A7xx etc have full manual settings which was pretty cool. They also take AA batteries which is a plus.
