Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So, I was just trying to change my lens a while ago and it wouldn't budge. Camera is a 450 D and lens a 50mm, a 1.8 thankfully, because the front element is after coming off that as well! That was followed by a little bit of plastic so the lens is for the bin i'd say. Have to get it off first though. When I press the lens release button I can rotate the lens fine, to roughly the position where it should come off but no luck. I don't want to force it any more in case I damage the camera body. Anyone got any suggestions??

    Thanks.

I had the same problem. Unfortunately my best solution was force the thing. Which is what I did - causing both the lens and the contacts on the camera to break.

My camera and lens fell causing this issue and the only thing I could do was force them apart, which broke both. Fortunately my home insurance covered both.

Sorry, it looks as if I was mocking you.

I've also just learned that it is possible to buy a filter wrench to unscrew stuck filters. Could there be a lens wrench?

    No, not at all.

I went with brute force in the end. It being a cheapo f1.8 I was able to cut through it with a snips fairly easily. It looks alright now, must go and try it out.
