Free legal downloads:
www.rcrdlbl.com
http://www.last.fm/home/freemp3s
And check your favourite artist's website, they tend to give away singles for free.

Oh i missed it acquiring it's legal status as of janurary this year. And now a name change too. Sure really legit guys.

Not sure about all that and don't care. All I am saying is in Russia they're legal. I don't know about here(thats the second time i've said that)

[QUOTE=http://www.technewsworld.com/story/34512.html

Here's an interview with the main gut behind them, apparently the aim to only cater for Russian users. If you honestly think there is nothing dodgy or shady about this. I am going to call you stupid.
Thats a nice article from 2004. I honestly think there is nothing dodgy or shady about this, why one might ask ,not because I'm stupid, but because I used them in the past still have account with $7.40 ballance, last time that I used the account 2005. But like I said in my first post, I'm not into music, I find it morally reprehensible like ignorance, racism, predjudice and blowhards.
Had you said either of that in any of your posts i'd have ignored you. Music akin to ignorance, racism et al. I don't have to say anything at all...

Would you have, I'm finding that hard to believe

Use Sharepod instead of itunes, alot better than the mess itunes leaves behind.

7 digital are a bit dodgy on their DRM free claim.
http://www.7digital.com/business/press2008.aspx?16_09_08a

And then this in the T&C:http://ie.7digital.com/termsandconditions
(ii) You are authorised to use the Content on up to five authorised devices at any time. 7 reserves the right to limit the number of authorised devices further and the number of authorised downloads to comply with the wishes of its licensors. (iii) You may not use Content as a musical “ringer” in connection with mobile phone calls.

Amazon don't supply here yet. iTunes need you to have their software on their PC as does Napster and Napster is per month subscription as is eMusic.

Is there a pay site that is really DRM free where you can just click the tune and pay straight away over the web and its available to Irish buyers?

So are you saying that there's some sort of evil DRM/spyware embedded in the mp3s downloaded from 7digital?

I should have also stated paragraph 8.2:
8.2 Digital Rights Management. You understand that some of the Content includes a security framework using technology that protects digital information and limits your usage of the Content to certain usage rules established by 7 and its licensors (“Usage Rules”)

Thats blatantly misleading in my eyes.

So does 7digital have that dreaded DRM like itunes?

Do 7digital take laser cards? I don't have a credit card.

I have an I-Pod but can't seem to find the library I bring the music from. Any ideas? I'm not usually this green around the gills about computers but this has me stumped!

Why is downloading music like speeding on the motorway? Most people do it yet very few ever admit to it like it's something only the scum of the earth do, why is that...?

Personally I'd buy anything but an ipod, many horror stories and that ol' nugget that shows how much Apple really cares:

http://www.youtube.com/swf/l.swf?swf=http%3A//s.ytimg.com/yt/swf/cps-vfl98307.swf&video_id=F7ZsGIndF7E&rel=1&eurl=http%3A//neistatbrothers.com/&iurl=http%3A//i3.ytimg.com/vi/F7ZsGIndF7E/hqdefault.jpg&sk=E5WQgNjbWc8tYyans2Fm6aN8-m0IAUnKC&fexp=900023&fs=1&color1=0x000000&color2=0x000000&hl=en&autoplay=1&cr=US&avg_rating=4.42857142857&length_seconds=141&allow_ratings=1&allow_embed=1&title=iPod%27s%20Dirty%20Secret%20High%20Resolution

Wow, big link! Anyways, I'd look for something that'll play most formats, good battery life or has a replaceable battery. Even if you've got tunes in the wrong format you can always get programs that'll convert them so long as you have a little bit of know how:

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

Even though actually figuring out how to download the program from the site can be a bit of an ordeal, it does the job most of the time.
