Which shop did you buy the pack at? They should let you us your loading card.

They now have this Cashback scheme where if you shop at some online stores you get some bonus money.

    PayZone Cashback

Seems okay but I just hope they bring down a few of their fees as it takes off and also if they allowed you to use it on Gambling sites like Betfair it would be really great.

Why not give payzone a call and ask for a list of worldwide money agents from them near to your location?

I haven't been charged the Eur1.50 for using the ATM yet - have you?

Also haven't been charged the 2.85% (or whatever it is) for online transactions.

Just tried lodging money to Betfair for the tenth time & it went through :D

Betfair say the problem was with Payzone & Payzone never replied to me.

I have the ryanair and yes i hate the charges also but compare that to using a normal card. Unless one is vary good and clears the full balance every month then the charges and interest pile on. A day late with a payment? More charges. Not using direct debit? More charges. Not defending them just trying to put some perspective on things.

cheapest way to do it is to go to Dundrum/Blanch centre and buy one of their gift cards, it's effectively a prepaid credit card, done by PerfectCard, and it's taken anywhere that takes MasterCard (including online)
You can get from up to €500 put on it, and the only fees are a one-off €3 processing fee, and €3 a month if you're stupid enough not to use it within 9 months of activation.

Have you used it online yet? I've seen these in some shopping centres, and they often have a note that says For Electronic use only, which to me means that it can only be used in machines, and not online.

I defo have not been charged any charges so far apart from the Eur3.50 for loading.

One thing I liked about the 3V system is that you could see ALL transactions - even the declined ones. With Payzone you can't and that's annoying.

The problem seams to be that it's taken the add on the irish page from the uk page where it is free to shop.

This is such a typical ripp off ireland, the same card does not charge for usage if you get it in the UK but in Ireland you have to pay 2.95%.

Given that the service company (Payzone) sits in Ireland and the bank behind it is the same this is a pure ripp off.

Try using netteller.com where you don't have usage charge and you can load the card via bank transfer for no fee at all.

I still haven't been charged the 2.95% or the Eur1.50 for ATM withdrawals. Has anyone else?

My charges showed up today. They don't tell you which specific transactions that they apply too though. Used two ATM's and the two €1.50's were taken out too.

This is odd as my balance was €2.21 and after the fee transactions it's now €3.74. I don't get it.

I wish they just took the 2.85% when you loaded it on. I mean if ALL uses of the card (phone, online, point of sale) etc are charged at 2.85% then why not just take it off the top.

I understand that you might take the money out at an ATM and so no % there.

Having few issues with Betfair also - course Payzone say it's Betfair's fault and Betfair say nothing to do with them. At least with 3V I could see when some tried to place a transaction but with these your in the dark.

I'm not a 100% sure but did you check your paypal balance because when I signed up to paypal they took €1.50 of my card (I think they take it to make sure the card was active) they said it would be put back on my card but it was put on to my paypal balance instead, how long were you waiting on your order of DEAL EXTREME, I just placed a order of them at 12.30am, I hope I get it now, I will let you know what happens,

I am a month waiting for it now, I rang them during the week and seemingly i never put in my postcode except i dont have one, so they said they would send it to the address i put on my registeration form which is my proper address so if it doesn't arrive by the 19th I will have to give them another call.

Hi if you google (paypay phone number) you will find all the different phone numbers for them, it will come up with a few different sites but the first few will be the closest to what you need, there is even 1 called (paypal sucks) you should find loads of info there.

I bought one today from the local shop.
Then I went online to register
But they do not have any SSL certificate, therefore all personal details sent to them are unencrypted and sent in clear.

F@ck that, gonna bring the card back tomorrow to the shop for a refund.

Hi I'm not 100% but when I go on the site there is a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) cert, I do find it when I click on the gold lock after the URL, or is that cert different than a (SSL).

Right folks, i have been using payzone for a month now, Just for shopping online, ands i have to say i am findin it to be a bit of a let down..

If anyone can figure out this, or is experiencing the same, please let me know

Here Goes - Any time i have funds left on the card (Say under 10 euro) and i top up the card further by 20 or 50 or whatever, the money i previously had on the card vanishes, and if i puit 20 on it i have like 16 or 17, or 50 say 46 or 47, and the previous funds are gone, And i also have no sign of anything on my "Recent Transactions" option on the payzone website..:mad:

Is anybody having the same problem currently or previously???

I am definitely gonna ring up and let them have it in the morning, Am seriously thinking about ditching this thing already and going back to using 3V

Ive started a thread asking about any other Prepaid Visa cards and my thread was (Rudely) closed. Im sure there is more than 3V and this card but I wasnt allowed to get any answers.

This card sems to be what I might be looking for but I wont be using the card a lot and dont want to be charged for not using the card.

    From my thread
I like to buy computer hardware online and some stuff I want to buy is over 400 euro. The 3V card is great if you just want to have a limit of 350 euro. But Sometimes I like to buy hardware like graphics cards IE. Nvidia GTX295 which is 450 euro+ on Komplett.ie or other sites. The 3V cards have a limit of 350 euro which isnt enough and sites wont allow to take two payments for items.

So I am wondering if there is any other temporary vouchers that use Visa numbers out there that I can get that has a limit near to the 500 euro mark? I cant get a Visa card because I am unemployed and it takes me months to save that ammount of money. It is cheapr to buy the computer parts online also which is why I want a temporary Visa number.

So is there anything out there except 3V?

Im not trying to argue over my closed thread but it was kind of rude to point me here when there is clearly other options other than this here.

Sorry for pointing you in the direction of answers. This thread contains information on several pre-pay cards, you should read it before you continue on this path.

Hi, I am using a pre-pay pay-zone for all my Internet shopping and any time I put more money on the card the balance gets added on so there is something not right there, have you rang them yet and if so what did they say ?

When you are signing up, why do you have to enter your passport number?

Hi, sorry to drag this thread up again but I felt it was more appropriate than starting a new thread.

When you are signing up, why do you have to enter your passport number?

I think it has to do with the fact that they are selling the cards one per person so your passport number or identity number is linked to you and cannot be made up resulting in you having more than one of the cards.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Motoring & Transport Moderators Posts: 7,396 Mod ✭✭✭✭**Timbuk2**

Oh so they don't actually check up on your passport? It's just used as a link to you?

Is it only accepted places that Debit Mastercard is accepted or is it accepted anywhere that Mastercard is accepted? (in shops etc.)
