    Hi,

I've been living in Sligo for the last few months and would like to meet some new people outside of work. Apart from soccer/GAA clubs, what other groups meet in Sligo (doesn't necessairly have to be outdoor/sporting based)

I'm aware of the upcoming tag rugby {http://www.sligorfc.ie/2009/03/28/irfu-tag-rugby-launch-2/] and Innisfree Wheelers outings[http://www.innisfreewheelers.com/].

Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm male, late 20s.

A few of us including myself, fozzle,Mrs.T and Darealtulip are planning on meeting up tomorrow for lunch.
Between four of us we are from 3 different countries and the two of us from Ireland are from opposite sides of the county. Don't be shy and come along.

As for other kinds of activities,I'm not too sure. I guess you would just meet people locally,if your a member of a gym or something similar you would meet people that way.

And what are your interests? What music do you like? Info like that we help us point you in the right direction.

Welcome to the sligo boards BTW!

Yes, Welcome to the Sligo Forums.

My brain has gone blank.Have you got any kids? As darealtulip said, maybe if you told us your interests we could point you in the right direction.

There is a lot of talk about the Warriors Run.A group of people meet up to try out the new route I think, check out the thread,it's around here somewhere.

Wow, remind me to never ask you for directions :P

Tober, I'll joint the others in asking where your interests lie, but I'll also say that having moved around quite a bit myself I find local forums like this one are actually a handy way to meet people. You may meet lots of people you have nothing in common with, or you could strike it lucky and make great friends - either way it's a handy starting point. If you're free this evening pop upstairs in The Glasshouse hotel where a few of us will be meeting up - my big orange jumper and myself will be there from 8 ^_^

You could check out Sligo Athletic Club. They have a Fit4Life programme which aims at introducing people to running for the purposes of getting fitter and healthier.
