Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Both team's last chance at 4th, a draw will surely see Arsenal take the last coveted CL place.

I fancy us to get a least a draw today, will be interesting to see if Agbonlahor

Hahaha, what's this crap on Selltotanta with their topics and having a minute to talk about it. The 3 of them were literally talking together at the same time =[

Hopefully the match is better quality than the build up.

Seeing as it's 1:31 now and they're showing a chat with Jo (avec le subtitles) it pretty much looks like a 2pm kick-off.

I wonder if Setanta advertised it as KO at 13:30 on purpose or whether they f'ed up.

I only turned over at about 13:27 as I had no desire to hear Tanta's team of "experts" "analysis"

Unsurprisingly the experts have been sh1t f.uck awful so far

    Decent pre-recorded interview with MON

    - He did trot out the whole being playing since August thing - Sorry Martin but you had funds to buy more players to deal with your squad size and you didn't. You failed to plan for the UEFA cup games and as a result you failed.

    - Took a bit of umbrage when there was mention of a summer clear-out and the Barry situation. Said that there is a normal cycle of players leaving clubs and seemed to indicate that notions of a summer clear-out were a bit wide of the mark

    - Went on about transfer market and disagreeing with other club's valuation of players and not wanting to pay over-inflated prices so as to not put the future of the club at risk, which strikes me as fairly disingenous given the fact that of the 92 clubs in the League they are probably one of the most secure.

Of course the "experts" reaction was awful - " I thought he was going to punch Darragh at the end there" While it was said half-jokingly it was well wide of the mark. Sad to see MacManaman involved with this crowd.

    2-0

Cahill is just rediculous. How does this small Australian man score so many headers?

    Villa falling apart.

2-0 Jeez bit of a collapse from Villa there.

Everton didn't really do anything great for the goals more a case of poor defending from Villa.

ARE Everton still 5.5/1 to beat Man U, seems ridiculous odds

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

Given Everton have only conceeded 14 goals in 14 away games this season, looks like Villa have a bit of a mountain to climb.

Hibbert yellow card - has been coming. Pacewise Young v Hibbert is a huge mismatch.

    Physic Bob strikes again ;)

Very poor by the Everton defence for the goal.

    Game on.

If Villa get another goal before half time, would make a great game for a neutral watcher.:(

Comedy gold by Young there after nicking about half a mile for the throw-in.

gotta love MON on the sideline and John Carew in general. When Villa start playing football this game looks there for the taking we need to realise we are better than route 1

Humdigger of a game. Everton probably fortunate to be one up, a draw would be more accurate of the half overall.

Hibbert on thin ice given he is already on a yellow. If he keeps fouling Young like that he'll be lucky to stay on the pitch the fully 90.

Howard having a mare for Everton - looking v shakey.

If Everton dont get a grip we will lost this, after going 2:0 up we switched off

Fellani doesn't look like a player worth everton's entire transfer budget looks very slow and cumbursome good positioning for the goal tho.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,957 ✭✭✭The Volt

A good manager takes off Hibbert now IMO. If Young skins him he cant touch him like

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,879 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

Villa were crap for the first 30mins, Have to say after that start im relieved to only be a goal down but this game is far from over if Villa continue as they just finished the half this will be a great second half. Young needs to keep getting at Hibbert, he can beat him and hes already on a yellow. Carew is on form infront of goal dare i say if Heskey were fit even MON would struggle to drop him atm

The only thing is the options to replace him aren't the best - Jacobsen on the bench is a RB but I don't think he has ever started for Everton.

Tell Osman to help out as much as possible and tell the other players to try and cut out the balls to Young initially.

Clearly Villa have been told to get the ball to Young

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,879 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

ahahah young really wants a penalty, but Moyes should be worried about Hibbert
