Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Inuries, injuries, injuries for us.

Benjani gone for the season (:D), SWP a doubt, Bridge and Kompany fecked.....

On a positive note, De Jong, Petrov and Bojinov should all be involvec (hopefully from the start).

A must win game really if we're to stay in contention for 7th spot.

Stephen Ireland will most likely be arriving at the COMS in his new motor -

    at home Robinho dropped wow

Well, I'd say 'rested' is the official line. Petrov needs game time and we may have to use him on Thursday.

    Good decision imo.

You're right. It comes for free through the youth system.

Happy with that half. They haven't troubled us and we've played some nice football.

    Need a 2nd though.

Ireland is the player of the season even though the bastards wont give him the award. Really ? who has even come close to hisperformances this season.

    What a finish from Etuhu.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

And once again we collapse at home to Fulham

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Great goal by Etuhu for Fulham. Looked like a copy cat of Ireland's goal from the first half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,710 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

in fairness Xavi, ye havent collapsed yet, Fulham have just started to play. City have been worryingly uninspiring throughout tho. Hopefully all that will change now and it'll become a contest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Etuhu doesn't look too pleased to be leaving the field. City need to find something now.

Course we have. Since they scored we've created feck all, can't string two passes together, and are crap at the back.

    Same shit different day.

Just proves that a lot of money can't produce a working team really.

zaki would be proud of that miss

So close for Fulham. I think Given could've caught that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

    Lol should've been 3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

City have just been booting long balls forward and getting nowhere. They have the pace and talent to surely work something better rather than route one football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

They'll score again before we do.

EDIT: Ha ha and there it is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,678 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

    dunne messed up badly there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

That's it now. What a bad mistake from Richard Dunne. Surely City can't come back into this now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

I won't be shocked if Hughes is gone by this time next week.

Surely Hughes has to go. He's had enough time.

Carbon copy of Thursday - Ireland scores first, we lose 3-1.

Might as well wait til end of season, no advantage to changing managers now tbh.

City need a chap like sven...;)

Roy Hodgson has really done a superb job at Fulham
id be suprise if he doesnt get a nomination for PL manager of the season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

    Absolutely disgraceful performance.

Shambolic decisions by the management, and yet again we're embarrassed.

Might lump on Hamburg to win by three on Thursday night.

if they can get someone in before the end of the season it would be a big advantage, would allow them to assess the players and start buying early in the summer.

So you kick out an experienced PL manager simply because of 'convenience' to your summer spending plans? Nonsense. City don't have that luxury, 8pts off the relegation zone.

Hughes can get them safety then get some new guy in June or whatever.

Oh c'mon, he's well capable of getting a few more points on the board. Defo not the man for the job long term, though that won't really surprise anyone.

So Xavi when did your opinion on Hughes change?

I didn't say my opinion had changed. I think he should be given til the end of the season and things be assessed.

I just said I wouldn't be surprised if he was gone by next week if we've no chance of qualifying for Europe next season. The owners are coming to town for the 2nd leg on Thursday so if/when we go out I could see something happening on Friday.

You just seem to be coming down harder on him then in the past. He deserves it though.
Sacking him before the end of the season is just pointless though IMO.
If they hope to get a big name manager in to replace him, they most likely won't be available. (Except Sven!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Hughes really isn't getting the results to justify giving him a chance.

    Bloody sure I am.

Before January there was the excuse that he hadn't had a transfer window to get in 'his players'. So he was given a stay of execution, despite some very questionable decisions and embarrassing defeats to West Brom amongst others.

Now we play with TWO holding midfielders at home when we have creativity sitting in the stands.

We take off our most effective striker for a Championship-standard 20 year old at 1-1.

We show zero ability to be able to defend crosses/dead balls.

We've been humiliated and played off the park twice in four days.

At some point you have to question to man at the top, and that time has come.
