Whats peoples experience of living in a duplex? Can you hear anything from under you? Any advantages/disadvantages?

I have been living in a duplex for the past few years. Apartment is above. Its a solid concrete floor and I never hear a thing.

Although I can hear my neighbours next door but not the apartment above. All depends on the build standard.

We have a duplex and the apartment is below. Like the previous poster no noise travels between us and the apartment but we can hear the duplex next door.
