Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Theme is Monotone - pics must have one overall tone.

    The Rules.

*Photos must be in by 2 weeks of given task - closing date 27th April
*No old photos. Only photos taken with task in mind and within the 2 weeks.
*Photos must be on the given task.
*ONE photo per post. Post as many as you like.
*Do discuss in a negative/positive manner but be nice about it.
    *Stretch yourself.
*Next task/subject to be choosen by person who has the most thanks after their post (must include a picture in the post ).
    *Smile & Be Happy!

Hope this is a reasonable example!

You've a good popint there sNarah. I had taken the photo a week or so ago. It looks very different though. I liked it but didn't know what to do with it so on reading this excellent task by Pulland... I thought to re-visit it with the task in mind. I don't do much PPing and when I do I kinda think it to be 'new'. But you are right. Although I didn't mean to sneek one under the bar and I did pop it up with honesty (and niavety) it does break the rules. I'll take it down.

Oh you make me feel bad now :o But, then again, you did re-edit it no? So maybe... aaaargh...

No you are right and right to say it. It was only when I read your post I realised my folly. Bang on sister! It's a good important rule that is simply adhered to. I did learn a little to from it aswell and that is that a PP photo is not a new photo and I think that the good thing about these assignments is to learn something.

Went for a walk-about last night as the light was fading, and have a shot I want to work on. Not great working in the dark without a tripod, but just wanted to see what I could find.

    3444071249_34930668fd_o.jpg

I was hoping to get the window as a small highlight in a sway of grey stone, but the image wouldn't come out at all from any further away :(
About 30mins too late, but I'll be back........

Taken with a 'suspect/dodgy' older Tokina lens (ie. blurry effect !)

"Blurry effect" or too slow shutter speed?:D
Like the purple one - BW version doesn't work for me.

It feels a bit like cheating putting in a black and white pic ;)

I'ts actually quite hard to get a decent monotone, that has some slight interest :)
I'm going to submit eight shots, absolutely no PP, except to crop....

Thanks, don't think I actually like any of them!
    Fussy eh?
What's interesting is, in #7, the tiny spot void of stone (a zen nightmare!) and #8 was actually a vertical wall, just thought it looked better, leading away, on the horizontal.

Thanks - the coin is balanced on a biro which is held upright by a clothes-peg with a book at each side.

    ^that is quite creative!!
Special kudos for taking the effort to get the shot! I was wondering there for a while how you managed to do that!
As i like to think, the true photographers are the ones who go the extra mile to get their perfect shot!!

Have to agree. I really appreciate when someone puts the effort into getting the shot right, rather than being a wiz at photoshop! Maybe that's because I'm too old (or lazy!) to be bothered with PP :D

Agh!!! That's like the magician telling you how the trick was done....spoils the magic.

    Great shot though :)

Does this qualify as monotone or ditone?

Got an idea for a very good monotone image but i need to get out of my house for that one!

I think white is still considered tone.
