xps 1530 laptop for editing?

    hi im thinking of picking up a dell laptop for vid editing.....i just wanted to double check with you video wizards if the speck will be ok for DV footage editing on vegas / premiere...prob won't use it for hd...just not sure about the GPU...

    dell xps 1530
    core 2 duo t6400 2ghz mb cache
    3 gb ram
    250gb hard drive
    nvidia 8600m gt (256mb) gpu
    15.4 inch screen

    all advice appreciated...

    On the face of it I'd up your graphics card as 256 is bout your average laptop these days so no harm in having 512. And up your hard drive if you plan to use the internal one - and find out what type of hard drive it is too! Also does it have a FW800 connection? You didn't give the processor speed btw

    the processor is Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T6400 (2.0GHz,2MB,800MHz FSB)

    hard drive is sata 5400rpm

    i think the firwire is standard Firewire (IEEE 1394a)...

    this laptop is 850e...

    but i did see a cracking looking acer 6930g......for only 700e
