Anyone else think it might be because we have Rio back? Never really rated him that importantly, would easily rate Vida higher but the team seems to be so much more comfortable when he plays

no, not really - he was present for the defensive horror shows against Inter and Liverpool, amongst others.

I think the main difference is that the midfield is battling better and not allowing the opposition to overrun the defence.
