    alrighty after about 10 minutes of chest strectching and 2.5kg shoulderr rotations and stuff i hit the bench

    Bench:
    bar by 10
    30kg x 5
    40kg x 5
    60kg x 5 these didnt go great at all, my arch and set up where all wrong, no groove
    70kg x 2 same as above, i paused these, they where hard, not happy
    80kg x 2 arch felt better, the reps felt hard
    85kg x first rep was absolutly perfect, nailed it, 2 sec pause got it up really easy,
    second rep, it was hard , i got it up and i was at the stage where i had to start grinding and the spotter touched and gave a lil help,

    i have no idea what to call it, i think i would of had it, but i dunno, anyway, 85 IS my opener.

    87.5kg x 1 definitly had it, the spotter touched again but there was no doubt i would have got it anyway.

    Now the fun sets i have no idea where i got the idea to do this but meh, it was fun.

    60kg x 5 5 second pause at the bottom
    55kg x 5 5 second pause at the bottom
    50kg x 5 " "
    45kg x 5 " "
    40kg x 5 " "


    25 minutes stretching , foam rolling of legs
    getting ready for my squat and dead opener test. i did bench today so id have more time to recover from my squat opener, thinknig of doing it tuesday then deadlift friday or sunday.


    Thoughts:
    good day, found my groove on time and im happy with my opener ,

    85 first then depending on how it felt, 87.5 or 90.

    the decreasing sets with the 5 sec pause where brilliant, your mind is so clear when your counting to 5 with a bar over you!

    Im really happy, i think ive improved alot since my last set of videos, i sat back more, got lower and by the looks of it, i was breathing into my stomach more, one thing i need to stop doing is pushing my knees over my toes at the bottom.

    All comments welcome , any tips, suggestions?

    oh and on the 125 fail, i felt uncomfortable all the way through, got under the bar too early, belt wasnt right, bar placement was annoying me, hand placement was annoying me, got down a bit, felt i was gonna fall back, said fck it, and racked it again.

    well im maintaining till my first comp, gonna stay under 100 for it, then after that im moving up to 110, im so skinny fat atm! its ridicolous, btw what do you think of the sqwats?

    I got 170kg x 5 (3 good reps in the set)
    so i'll open for one at 170kg and see how i feel from there.
    Will try to pull 210kg on the day id say

    deadlift is gonna be 165 -170 depending, i mean they both felt easy but on the day may be different, id love to hit 180 :P id say your good for 200 atleast, just gotta be patient.

    alright, first of all, id like to thank transform,bossarky and the diesel crew deadlift set up video. Oh and a guy called bushido something or other on Tnation

    Transform for his video on glute activation, boss arky for being an advocat of birddogs which are awesome.
    the diesel crew video is very helpful

    and bushido posted a description of this awesome glute activation exercise which ill find later.

    i was a bit skeptical of all the glute activation and stuff until i put 130 on the bar without a belt and it felt like air going up. anyway

    cheers, days like today make me glad i looked up an irish fitness forum in february. i mean this sh1t is so god damn addictive!


    well in other news thats all my lifts tested.

    so far its looking like this

    Squat:
    120 x 1
    125 x 1
    127.5 + x ?

    Bench:
    82.5kg x 1
    87.5kg x 1
    90kg + x ?

    Deadlift:
    165kg x 1
    175kg x 1
    180kg x ?

    hopefully it all goes to plan, not training again till monday and its gonna be alot of mobility work and some light lifts.
