Hi all, went shooting for the first time over the weekend and loved it. Used a .22 rifle and scope, had such a good time. Was just doing a bit of target shooting. I would love to get one myself, was using a friend of a friends when i was out. How much would i be looking at to buy one, nothing too perfect just a starter one, also how much would an okish scope cost too.
I know i need a licence, 21 no record so should be no prob. How does it work? Do i get a licence then gun, or gun then licence (so can provide serial no. etc).
I live in Dub so am wondering if there places to shoot (mountains etc) or must you join a club? How much is it to join a club?
I was shooting on land (with owners permission) during the weekend so would love to keep up something like that if possible.
Could anyone provide some additional info on a .22 and could anyone based in dublin list places that they would go shooting.
My closed gun shop would be tallaght rod and gun, anyone any experience dealing with them, might go for a gander at weekend. Any other places in Dublin people would recommed too?
    Any info would be great.
    Cheers.

As to price my son got a good CZ 22lr for €250 secondhand so there are good deals to be had. Half good scope for €100.

As endasmail has said have a look at http://www.courtlough.ie/

    or

    http://www.pcquad.com/

If you go to the Tip section it will cover everything on how to apply for a licence.

As for prices you could have a look here for a rough idea http://shoot.ie/

As clive has said a good cz would be a great start, had one for many a year brilliant rifles
