Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

J1 in New york....how much do I bring?

Hi, I am hoping to head over to new york for the summer with a friend. I am a student so I will be getting a J1 visa to work over there. I am just trying to get an idea of the kind of money you would need going to new york to secure a place and living expences while you wait for a job?
We are hoping to live in Brooklyn in one of the good youthful neighborhoods like Fort view, or williamsburg. These areas will be more expensive than living out in long island for example, but we want to go where the action is! Anybody have any ideas, or recommendations?
    Thanks
