Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Cech flapped at that awfully.

Some control by malouda on the wing there.

Handy win for Barca imo. I'd say 3-1 or 4-1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Drogba is looking too isolated upfront.

Does anyone else think that Bosingwa being played out of position doesn't make much of a difference?

I mean Messi is left footed (primarily) playing on the right, so Bosingwa being right footed on the left should be ok?

i do realise it's Messi though, he hasn't had much of the ball yet in any case.

Bosingwa playing at left full might be a blessing in disguise for Chelsea. The fact that Messi also plays on 'the wrong side' means when the Barca man cuts in on his left, Bosingwa will be tackling with his stronger right foot unlike Ashley Cole would have been.

    ;)

Sorry didn't have time to reqad the whole thread :D

I think that is a great opinion you have by the way ;)

Looks like his next rash one is a yellow considering the ref's arm waving after his first real test on messi.

Barcelona don't look like they've clicked just yet. Good thing for Chelsea, because they're playing useless.

Iniesta and Xavi are a joy to watch.

It's been done by Liverpool before when they beat Barca at Nou Camp a few years back If I'm not mistaken.

Arbeloa played on the left and kept Messi quiet

Have Chelsea even completed a single pass in the opposition area?

If Henry had any support there, that was a goal.

Nope, doesn't seem so. Barcelona are playing better.
    Yellow card for what????????

Similar to the game against Man. Utd. Barca need to be a little more incisive.

Chelsea keep giving the ball back in the hope of breaking legs by the looks of things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭aidan24326

Messi, great player that he is it can be a bit predictable the way he always cuts in from the right onto his left foot. I'd like to see him vary it a bit more, take the fullback on sometimes.

And what's with Cech hoofing the ball back to the Barca keeper? 3 times he's done it. Chelsea have offered nothing in attack and Drogba has no support at all up there.

How much posession have Barcelona had? Lucky for Chelsea that they aren't being productive in front of the goal.

Have to say Toure is having a fab game, literally nothing has gotten past him.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,321 ✭✭✭prendy

its like a game of forwards v's defenders. 96% in chelsea half.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,942 ✭✭✭missingtime

Chelsea are giving Barca so much time on the ball. There is no pressure on them.

    Chelsea defending superbly

The crowd is gone pretty quiet.

Its set up for a 1-0 to Chelsea. Early days yet though

    Bad second miss by Drogba

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Almost one completely against the run of play.

It's all gettin very bitchy out there.

He promptly gets himself booked and snaps at poor Pique!

LOL Drogba. What was he doing. Barcelona could very easily be 1-0 down.

Abidal really looks out of place in this Barcelona team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,824 ✭✭✭ShooterSF

Valdes with no right to expect to save the rebound, poor from drogs after reading the mis-pass so well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,326 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Was a good chance for Drogba, fair play to him for keeping the pressure on,

but he hit it straight at the keeper, poor shot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,398 ✭✭✭MIN2511

Drogba needs support! Proper support! Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhh

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,321 ✭✭✭prendy

    iniesta is absolutly savage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,001 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

A rather cynical Chelsea don't concede in the first half. Although Valdes did very well at his own end when a goal looked certain. Great double save.

    Its a bit crap, no?

Only in the last 5/6 mins have things got a bit more intriguing.

Its hard to see where Chelseas goal is coming from short of an error, while Barca are showing themselves to be rather too Arsenal at thier most frustrating.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Interesting first half. Iniesta playing particularly well here. Henry/Eto'o/Messi are misfiring though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

Anyone else agree that this is the best refereeing display for a LONG time. He's telling everyone who is ghouling around to get up, unlike the donket who reffed chelsea v liverpool.

I think its a fascinating match. Iniesta certainly the standout player so far!
