    Hi all,

This is probably the most bizarre questions to put into the public forums . But what the hell ... I was wondering has anyone ever soundproofed a Stira ?

I have an attic conversion with a PC/Media room installed. My problem is when I open or shut the Stira door the bloody springs make so much noise they can wake the dead!.

I've tried placing pipe insulation/foam around the high tension springs and it works somewhat for a while. Also in case you ask I have oiled the springs but it doesn't seem to do any good.

I need a near silent open and shut for access without waking the sleeping family.

I'm sure that (hopefully) someone has figured out how to silence the loud creaking of the tension springs ?

    Thanks all.

Contact Stira and ask them what to do?
