Ashton Kutcher vs CNN vs.. /b/

So, while trawling the hive of villany and scum last night, I noticed one /b/tard kicking up a fuss (re: baaaww) about Ashton Kutcher and CNN having a race to see who can be the first to have one million followers on twitter.

From this, it was decided that /b/ should also join the race - using a twitter dedicated to basement dad; http://twitter.com/BASEMENTDAD

At around 2am last night, the twitter had around 70 followers.
It's now rising on 100,000 followers.

Of course, the moral dilemma between helping Ashton Kutcher and /b/ isn't so great - most would be more than eager to piss on what Kutcher would claim to be a life goal. My question to you however is this - why is it that as a human race, we can only truly motivate ourselves to a cause when the end result is to (just barely) piss someone off?

Twitter are aware of the situation and have responded to a few news sites but im not sure what there gonna do
