Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why did Markko Martin leave WRC?

I keep thinking it was something to do with a big crash?

He was Subaru's (Prodrive) official test driver before they pulled out of WRC.

Amazingly Marko was also a passenger in a car with the late great Richard Burns when he blacked out as they were on the way to a rally or event. The rest is history but needless to say Richard never competed again.

Then his co driver Michael "Beef" Park was tragically killed in an accident on a rally and that was that.

He was a test driver for Subaru and a brilliant driver but no human being could go through these events and be unaffected.

Extremely talented driver thwarted by two devastating tragedies in close succession.

It would be a treat to see him back on the stages but unfortunately doubtful with the death of Beef Park likely to hang over his career.

He is one of my all time favorite drivers, very talented, very passionate and very down to earth. Markko and Beef had great chemistry in the car also and had some very funny moments.
