I did listen and dropped Villa from my accum!

Madrid and Barca let me down with both only winning 1 nil!

Think Barca had about 3 disallowed goals! One of which should have definitely stood! So you can blame the ref for Barca only getting a 1 nil.

    dead certs this weekend are
AS Roma and AC Milan at colossal odds of 3/10 and 2/7 making 4/6 so we need to boost that. Barcelona are 4/9 and need another win while in France PSG only need to turn up to win at 1/4.
    that's a cast-iron 2/1 quadruple which isn't too bad.
if you like singles then Stoke and Sunderland are interesting.

Best prices for the weekend, but just for brave people are
Wolfsburg 10/11 Malaga 10/11 and Inter Milan 15/8
apparently Atalanta are playing a team of cripples too, they are 8/11.
    best of luck everyone !
cast-iron 2/1 shot came in !!! Plus Stoke and Sunderland
three of the braves didn't win though, (Inter conceded in injury time to knock my doubles) but i'm in profit and happy enough !

Couldn't trust Villa to scrape a result together tbh the rest look decent prospects.
    mike65 wrote: »
Stay away from Wolves there is no way they'll be so sensible as to win promotion at home with two games to spare!

You told us both of the above Mike65, stopped clock is right twice a day and all that :p

well mike is right a lot of the time

I don't see the point in sticking money on short odds teams. like united to beat everton for instance, anyone with an ounce of sense would have kept away from it.

short odds teams are a bookies paradise bastds

United were 1.84 yesterday morning. If Fergie put out the same team from the Porto game I would have lumped on and they would have won easily. You can make money from odds on shots. You just have to be selective when it comes to placing down your hard earned and spotting the right opportunity.

e.g i lumped on 2 singles this weekend:

Spurs at 5/7 playing against a ****e newcastle side at home where they have not conceded this year. ok it was only 1-0 but the result was never in doubt it should've been 3 or 4.

    Sunderland at 20/21.

At home desperately needing a win against a hull side are the worst form team of the last 3 months or so.

I don't think theres one single way to go about betting (i.e only going for long shots, or only going for short odds). Just got to look at the price and if you think the bookies have got it wrong then go for it. So even though these 2 bets were relatively short, i still felt they were too long. Especially Spurs at home, couldnt believe the price, nor could anyone I told.

And id agree with raheny red - if united had put out a team against Everton then 1.84 was a very good price (this is coming from someone who absolutely despises United). I think peoples mistake was betting on the game before hearing the team news. I layed off a third of my potential winnings from that 25/1 accum. after hearing the teamsheet. But on hindsight i probably shouldnt've included them in there in the first place without knowing the team.

It's called Gambling for a reason. There are no guarantees, you just learn a lesson and move on.

I lost €10, no big deal, i lost what i could afford to lose. That is the key here.

Agree about the stopped clock being right twice a day.:)

I agree. This is called tissue betting. If you look at all the matches without prices and give your own odds Then when looking at the bookies odds in comparison, you can see if your getting what you think is good value to back a particular result. Quite popular in the gambling world.

Am i going mad or does Arsenal at 9/2 look like value tonight?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,978 ✭✭✭✭mike65

I'd say so (that they're value that is) Obviously I'm hoping you loose the bet :)

Okay they are 5/1 on PP you can get

    15/1 on -1
    3.75 draw no bet
    2/1 on +1

Thats astoninshing value for a game like this, I'll only say wait till the teams are announced. Wenger might just be happy enough to see this game out with no injuries.

ther has been stacks of cash for liverpool in the last few days gone from evens to 4/6 in places, expect arsenal to be missing a few and to be a bit jaded after the weekend

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,978 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Arsenal team is not nearly their strongest even with the injuries. Liverpool have put out best 11 they can pretty much.

    IT’S A 4-4 EPIDEMIC!!!

Posted by Paddy Power at 10:03am April 22nd, 2009

    I can’t adam & eve it….Liverpool’s second 4-4 draw within a week and it’s cost us a fortune!

We go 500/1 about 4-4 while other bookies only go 100/1. I’ve asked our football geniuses about this and they tell me that it’s because statistically it never happens…..HELLO!!!!!!!!!

Last week we were taken to the cleaners for about 225k and it’s more than doubled this time around to 500k - It’s a bloody 4-4 epidemic!

Last week’s result was the worst correct score result in our history so this is twice as bad. The only good thing is that most of the cash is spread around lads who had about 3 quid on.

But if you’re reading this….yes you…you know who you are….you had 25 on at 500/1 last week and 44 at 500/1 this week…yes you with all that money in your account….WELL DONE YOU JAMMY FECKER!!!!!
