Lol, I don't have to justify it to myself but sometimes I jokingly do.
    Such as
'there's only 3biscuits left, no point leaving 1 or 2'
sharing with someone relieves the guilt, I always do that with my mother 'do *you* want some chocolate' :D
or 'pfft, sure I could do with a bit of weight' (possibly true!! lol)
or 'sure it;s early i'll burn it off later'

It's the Easter holidays... I'll start the core plan again when I go back to school.

I'm past thirty so I don't need to wear skinny jeans.

I'm playing football on Wednesday/Saturday so a packet of crisps won't hurt.

I have to try all those new walkers flavours because only one will win and remain and I can say I ate Builder's Breakfast flavoured crisps to my kids.

I am defying the meaningless bourgeois mores of Easter by eating all my kid's surplus present eggs before the actual day.

See above, but add fatuous excuse about not letting son have too much chocolate.

I have to eat something sweet after I have something savory and vice versa so It goes like this crisps, chocolate, crisps, chocolate, crisps, chocolate.....mmmm someone has me craving a mint aero now :D

    It's negative calories on holidays
It has to be tolerated during revision, leads to more relaxation, hence better exam results
Chewing vigorously uses up the calories:D

    My favourite justifications include:

If you are eating standing up then the calories don't count.

Likewise, if you are eating out of the packet or whilst walking.

Oh and if you eat fruit after eating junk they cancel each other out so it's like you ate nothing!!

If I want it, I eat it. I only eat dark chocolate, never milk, so I never feel bad about that. It's impossible to eat more than two squares of dark chocolate at a time.

The trick, I find, is to try not to want junk all the time but to want something else nice, like wholegrain toast and hummus.

I'm suffering from PMT and will be in a better mood if I eat chocolate etc.
I am trying to gain weight.
I am trying for a baby and need to put on weight.
I have a small stomach and need to eat calorie dense foods (sadly true).
    I like chocolate.

    1)I'll start my diet tomorrow...

2)I should eat it - I need it for a balanced diet!

    3)I'm not THAT allergic...!

    This thread reminds me of that Fat Fighters sketch in Little Britain;

"If you cut it in half, there's half the calories! And because there's half the calories, you can have twice as much!"
    :D

"I've been in the gym a few days this week, I deserve it !" Is something I use when justifying eating a whole tub of ben and jerrys ice cream..big tub..

Oooohhh you just reminded me about the tub i bought on Saturday thats still in The freezer. I'll eat that tonight, coz it's depressing Monday. hahaha.

But that easter egg one is so true. I'm supposed to be being good this week but i cant because i still have a full Galaxy egg at home. i better eat that first.

If you eat parts of the mixture/ingredients while you are cooking or baking then it doesn't count.

Sometimes then you can refuse a slice of the finished product because you've had enough during the manufacture, thus placing the guilt on others, who will therefore have smaller "guilt slices" and ultimately more will be left for yourself. ;)

Bread is just raw toast, so by putting it in the toaster and covering it with real butter I'm helping it along the way to achieving it's destiny.

Just thinking about food like that would take all the pleasure out of it for me!

I hate WeightWatchers. I just don't think I'm capable of depriving myself of the things I like to eat. It's a terrible reflection on me.
