A footlong wheat with chicken, bacon, lettuce, onion and mayo is approx 978 cals?

I'm working this out from this thread
    http://www.subway.ie/menu_nutrition_info.asp#valu

    and this section
6” Subs Values include wheat bread, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, green peppers, olives and onions.

and taking the value for the Chicken / Bacon ranch and doubling it.

Just trying to get my head around their nutritional data on their website. Am I reading it right?

    Thanks

You haven't factored in mayo, so it'd probably be quite a bit higher, assuming they're generous with the mayo.

Dressings & Sauces (amount on 6" Sub):

    Light Mayonnaise : 56
    Mayonnaise : 108

If you get cheese, it's higher again.

Add cheese + mayo + toasted then.

So we're talking the guts of about 1500 calories for the sub then?

Toasted won't make a difference, but the website says cheese has 44 kcals in a 6", so 88 in a footlong. Do you know if they use light or normal mayo? Most ones I've eaten in use light as standard. So yeah, you're looking at about 1,200 kcals for the whole thing.

Not gonna argue over the difference between light and normal mayo at this stage ... it's pretty massive the amount of calories I guess is the answer! Didn't realise so much!

    Thanks
