    After some tweaks, I finially got the these files ready for upload.

    What's in the zipped file?
    There are four files under one folder in the zipped file, they are:
    __Vodfaone_ie.bundle
    |__carrier.plist
    |__Default_CARRIER_Vodafone-ie.png
    |__SFO_CARRIER_Vodafone-ie.png
    |__Info.plist

    carrier.plist contains the settings in Property List format, these include apn setting, carrier logo file path, voice mail number etc.,
    Info.plist contains some general settings,
    the two .png files are carrier logos.

    How to install?
    To install the setting files, just follow three simple steps:
    Step 1. Download the zip file which is attached to this post and unzip.

    Step 2. Transfer the folder to /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/ on your iphone
    You can use ftp client at your choice.

    Setp 3. ssh to your iphone and run following command
    ln -s /System/Library/Carrier\ Bundles/Vodafone_ie.bundle /System/Library/Carrier\ Bundles/27201
    You can also use Terminal if you have it installed.

    This is a screenshot with red Vodafone logo:

    I can also make setting files with logo for Meteor and 3 if there's such request.
    Please let me know on the reply.

    Great work dude! really good stuff.

    I think making them for Three too would be good, I am sure people will see this thread in the future and then go looking for it if you do not do it now.

    Any chance you could do a decent one for O2? the standard one is quite boring, I'm thinking something more along the lines of the actual O2 logo if it's possible?
    Good work on figuring out how to get it working!

    Hi guys, I have followed this proceedure to the letter and still no joy?! I am using a rebel sim on an O2 locked handset with a Vodafone u.k sim. I have tried absolutely everything I can think of to get this carrier logo from using Customize ( won't apply file sets) to deleting all the other carrier bundles! Nothing works.....Any help is greatly appreciated!1 I wondered if it might be due to the proxy sim unlocking method? Who knows! I'm almost at the give up point.....

    Hi there, this will only work on a Vodafone IE sim card.
    I will try to make a Vodafone UK one and reply if it's done.

    Absolutely awesome! Cheers man.

    I had no notion about doing any of this until I went rooting. So I've put the programs you need for noobs (like myself :p) here to save you some time. Obvious one, you need to have a Jailbroken iPhone.

    1 - You need to install OpenSSH app on your iPhone with Cydia (or whatever install you have.
    -> Gizmodo Guide to using OpenSSH

    2 - You'll need to install iTunnel on your PC.

    To connect, on Session tab of WinSCP Login dialog specify:

    3 - IP address of your iPhone/iPod Touch into Host name (You will find the IP address, if you go to yours iPhone/iPod Touch menu Settings > Wi-Fi and choose the network you are using);

    4 - root into User name; alpine or dottie (depends on firmware version) into Password;

    5 - You may need to set longer Server response timeout on Connection tab;

    6 - Keep default SFTP File protocol;

    7 - Click Login.

    Then transfer the above.

    8 - Use Putty in iTunnel to run the above command.

    Last thing, Restart your phone.

    Point 3 - 7 taken from here.

    Hi

    would Ifunbox or Ifuntastic do all this without SSH and putty ?

    Cheers

    I can't run the command as there is no folder named 27201. There is a folder called 27202 however, would that do?

    It's an iPhone 2G 3.0.1 jailbroken.
