Depends on which Netbook OS and if you can find a suitable driver.
The HSDPA handset - which can be used as a laptop dongle - has Bluetooth and comes with a 1GB memory card.

Usually you can't make or receive calls, or in some cases do anything, while the phone is used as a modem.

You need a data package too, or it's very expensive.

Generally unless it's very very occasional travel, you are better with a dedicated Modem and dataacount.

Check with what ever forums (NOT 3) which modems are supported by your netbook with its current flavour of Modem. Almost all the well known USB modems work on Linux or Windows. Some Modems on Some Linux just work, others may require some SW installed and configured (NOT usually the SW that comes with modem).

If it is NOT for Mobile/travel use, but just Home/College/digs/Office, then get real Broadband.

    thanks.

Three PAYG mobile internet is cheap and convenient for me at the moment - I think i'll take a chance on the INQ1, if it doesnt work as a modem i can use it as a phone and flog it on for half price later, i reckon.
