Just wondering had anyone taken USIT up on this before or are going to do it for their J1 this year? Its days 50euro for an account and a sim card, just seems a bit steep..

Is it hard to get an A/C set up over there? I would have thought its just a case of walking up with an id and proof of address??

yeah i thought it was a bit steep too when i heard about it, but then i was talking to friends who were on a J1 last year and they said it can take a while to get a bank a/c sorted out, they reckoned if you can just pay a fee to have it all taken care of it would be well worth it, think i'll go with it,

It only takes a few mins to set up a bank account in the states, and you can buy phones with sim cards there for less than $30. Dont waste €50 on this rubbish offer!

bank a/c are easy and free to set up, all i needed was my passport last year.
Phone cost me 19 dollars to buy at radioshack and then i topped up accordingly.
dont waste 50 quid on that scam
