Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi folks

I am trying to move/organise files around my pc but very often explorer just hangs and I have to shut it down and restart. It's really bugging cos it's preventing me moving a lot of files around

I went into event viewer and this is what I find (below) - From Googling it seems it may be a problem with Vista but I cant find a solution

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Cheers

The program explorer.exe version 6.0.6001.18164 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. The best way to fix explorer is to do a system restore

Going through google and came up with a possible solution

    - it was to download ShellExView and use it to temporarily disable all Shell Extensions and then re -enable them again until I found the source of the problem. I'm not too sure whether I want to go down that route tho'

Could RAM have anything to do with this at all?

My PC has 3GB of it and I get it the odd time, but not enough that it's a problem (and it usually fixes itself in about five seconds). A friend has a laptop with 1GB of RAM and from my experience using his laptop (not much, admittedly) it seems much more frequent.

RAM probably isn't even slightly related, but I just thought i'd mention it.

Its relatively new and pretty high spec so I dont think its that. Also when it hangs it stays hung

could be your hard disk is on the way out. run a defrag or full chkdisk. this was my problem when it happened to me.

You could try a 3rd party file browser like FreeCommander
