I'm convinced that the difference between this season and last season is nothing but bad luck. I mean in this game we had so many great chances that didn't go in when last season we were picking up 4-0s like there was no tomorrow. IMO we have had to change our style to accommodate Berbatov and it's gotten to the point where even when he's not on the field we play a lot slower

I would have the same view. I thought it was a sluggish performance and I felt the passing was sub-par for the most part but I'm still happy.

    That'd be Chris Waddle

From BBC Radio 5 Live's Chris Waddle: "In spells they looked laboured, Manchester United, and they didn't play that well at any stage, but they deserved to win, you can't really argue with that. As for Pompey, I think they'll stay up this season."

It was total domination from the 1st minute to the 90th minute. United had all the chances and should've won by more. But I'm still delighted with the win

yeah I can understand that. Even though his passing was bad he still showed good hustle and impressive energy in the circumstances

I`m ****ing delighted. Still not firing on all cylinders but who gives a **** at this stage of the season. Defending as a team looks a lot more solid so thats the main thing.

Rooney, Giggs, Anderson all class tonight.

3 points and one less game to go.

I believe it's time to listen to the Happy Days tune.

delighted with that result.starting to show signs they are hitting a bit of form again.should have had the game finished off at half time .good win all the same.rooney was excellent as was anderson,he just tired in the 2nd half which is understandable

That would also be Alan Green as well who still claims that he's not a Liverpool supporter

From what I can tell, it wasn't a bad game from our point of view at all, but hopefully the quality of the performances can continue to steadily increase.

I just hope O'Shea and Neville will be alright, the injuries haven't really gone our way this season :/ I really love to see Rafael playing though, he's such a talented footballer.

But yeah. Top of the league with a game in hand, superb. I'm feeling much better now than I was feeling a week ago thanks to this.

I really wanna hear that song again.

That was amazing :D Love it!

Good performance, not a great one though... I'm a bit apprehensive about playing Arsenal. I also hope that Rio is back for Spurs, cos Pompey got 2 or 3 chances that they shouldn't have.

    Not at all.

I am enjoying watching my team playing great football ;) . If you had to be around when players like Djimi Traore were with the club you'd embrace times like these ;) , fúcking embrace them :)

    +1

Giggs is still well on top of his game. He had some absolutely beautiful touches tonight but should have put away one of his chances at least.

Champions League winner. Don't be knockin' him.

Anderson was good tonight. His final ball needs work though and I think he could then be very very good.

Massive result, I do love the sound of normal service being resumed....the league is the bread and butter, we have the bread, we just need to spread the last bit of butter now and we are home and dry. (thats not a George Hamilton quote ;))

Just saw the two goals now and I have to say, they were brought around by two GREAT passes. Andersons was some ball and dunno how Scholes got that through the defence that easily.

The defence for the second goal was a joke. One player dragged way up and their was a gaping hole in their defence.

League isnt over. Everyone expected United to get a result against Portsmouth. By the way having watched the game pompey looked so poor. They seemed to have no tactical strategy at all. Terrible terrible team.

If you beat Spurs Saturday then its a different story.
