I have a gtx 260, although I'm rather confused. Im running 64 bit Vista now, and the latest stable drivers installed.

Im a bit confused though, when I go into the graphics adaptor properties, i see 896mb of dedicated and over 2.5gb of shared memory on it. I've never read anywhere about this shared memory. Can anyone shed some light on it?

The 860 meg of memory is the physical memory on the card itself. The shared memory is the when the graphics card uses your PC's RAM as extra memory (or virtual memory). In your case 2.5gig is available to the graphics card to use on top of the Graphics card RAM.

    i know that already.

I just didnt know the shared memory was a feature on the GT200 series, and if there really is, how can i change the memory footprint?

It'll never use it. That shared memory thing is just a pissing match for manufacturers. The shared memory will only be used on integrated and low end cards.
