Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Lo all.

    I have a Canon 40D with 17 - 85 USM lens.

Im looking to upgrade the lens to the 17 - 40 L professional lens, Ive read good things about it and the shots look crystal.

I was thinking about trading in my current lens towards this as I can't quite afford it on it's own right now.

Does anyone have an idea what I might get for my current lens, or if I was to sell it what would be a reasonable price to ask, considering it is only 2 months old and as perfect as the day it came from factory.

Any other ideas or suggestions Id be greatful for too.

    Thanks in advance!

Check out what they go for on Adverts.ie, good place to sell although you might get a bit frustrated by people making ridiculous offers and then threatening to go up North :)

Check Ebay for the same lens, place a "watch" on on-going auctions and after observing for a few days you'll have a very good idea what you'll get on Ebay.

And I'd actually recommend Ebay rather than Adverts.ie, for one you'll have more potential buyers. Your lens will be sold in a predetermined time and there wont be continuous back and forth haggling.

though ebay fees are kinda high, i just sold a lens for €500 and fees end up being around €65 & you have to post which when you want insurance and you're sending outside Ireland can be easily over €50
