    the equation is

    h(40) = (.00001)(208953000)/(1000)(9.81)-((.00001)(208953000)/(1000)(9.81)-.092)e^-(1000)(9.81)/(208953000)(.02043)(40)

Could you post a scan or a screen cap of the equation or do it up in latex or something?

As it stands it's hard to make sense of it

    /edit: I take it h is a function?

Judging by the 9.81s this may be more suited to Physics

I'm getting 0.213-(0.121)(0.9999) which works out at 0.092... could be doing it wrong though.

The way you've written it is ambiguous. For example,

    (1000)(9.81)/(208953000)(.02043)(40)

could mean (1000)(9.81) (divided by) (208953000)(.02043)(40)
or ((1000)(9.81) divided by (208953000)) (multiplied by) (.02043)(40)

if you copy and paste into a calculator, it will normally assume the latter.

In general, a/bc is understood by computers to mean (a/b)*c = ac/b
This could be where you're going wrong.
