Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ok, I'm curious about this. How do you shoot a silhouette???

    I've read a few bits, but they all seem a little vague, and go more in to what it is, rather than how to shoot it.

    Any tips/advice? I'd love to shoot some silhouettes in a studio.

    You need space, and to light the background without hitting the model.

    Ok, so I set the strobes to not light the model at all, and just illuminate the background. I guess, I therefore don't really need to change my camera settings in that situation.

    Thanks. You've been more helpful with that one line than half a day searching the net !!

    There you go, it's very rough and ready. Add in your own barn doors, gobos and mods to control the light the way you want it, personally, I'd put in a door at either side of the model to stop light falling on.

    Nice diagram Fajitas!
    Do you have any more of these? (or better yet; care to reveal your source?)

    A lovely chap called Kevin Kertz put them together!

    On a google, this is what came up first;

    http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/10/easy-diy-lighting-diagrams.html

    I mainly use them for showing other people lighting, rather than recording my own though.
