The last couple of years we have had to replace a small fir tree that we had sin a pot by the front door. It always seems to die off when it gets to much sun and the position we want it for is very sunny.

Does anyone have any suitable suggestions for a replacement that likes sun?

try Juniperus communis 'Compressa' its ok in full sun very slow growing, only reaches roughly 1m in height and 1/2m in spread, can be grown in a container as well.</STRONG>

There are lovely maple trees you can grow in containers and they have fantastic red leaves. If you ask at you local garden centre they will tell you also what shrubs trees can be container grown...
