Dublin Airport unveils its latest development for passengers

The Dublin Airport Authority ( DAA) unveiled the latest development in its Transforming Dublin Airport programme with the opening of the Terminal 1 Extension today, 22 April.

The new contemporary facility will improve the travel experience for passengers using Piers A and D boarding gates. Providing more circulation space for passengers, this extension to the main terminal building features many new brands to Travel Value shopping including Benefit, Molton Brown, Bobbi Brown, Boots and the Nail & Beauty Lounge. The new facility also features well-known food outlets Burger King and Starbucks. The Caviar House & Prunier makes its first appearance in Ireland, offering the passenger a winning formula of fine gastronomy with caviar, smoked salmon and toasted blinis, seafood platters and salads, prawn cocktail, lobster, local sushi and sashimi specialties.

    Ends
    22 April 2009

How many fish monger outlets are there in Dublin Airport? It seems like a lot/too many.

Look good, but if they'd fix immigration it would make more of a difference than this.

But it wouldn't bring in any more money :-)

Damn I see they are using different tiles to the ones in the Departures area,
when people speak of how Aer Rianta/ DAA always achieve value for money, you need only look at the value for money they achieved in the flooring in Departures area when they did it up a few years ago!
    If only I had pictures!:(

Spend about 50p on a Domestic Arrivals door. Fix the stupid farce going on with the immigration guards.

Pray tell how exactly can the DAA 'fix' that industrial action?

What next DAA involved in peace talks in Gaza?

no extra security screening or avoidance of immigration for passengers who are not coming into the country but merely moving from one part to another

but local specialities of sashimi. Local to Ireland or local to Dublin? cos who wouldn't want to eat raw fish from the liffey or royal canal or even dublin bay

And if the DAA could fix the construction industry and save Dublin Bus' RVs instead of a new terminal it would be nice..

It's farcical that Dublin is ending up with two terminals, terminal 1 sprouting one add-on patchjob after another, when one well designed one would have done except that wouldn't suit Mata Harney and the PPP nuts in the PDs. Toronto's new Terminal 1 is what Dublin Airport should have got - well designed, spacious, expandable to 35 million passengers per annum. When that is reached, boot the locos to Baldonnel.
