18 months and counting for NAVAN to sort itself out with a claim and CWO REFUSING to give any assistance in the interim. Disgraceful.

    Hi Tara,

I'm in a similar position to you that I'm leaving my job 'voluntarily' next week so I'm not sure what the position is re social welfare. It's not really voluntarily but I just want to go on relatively good terms as I need references etc. Just wondering if you were given the opportunity to explain your situation or if you were given an automatic 9 week an given that you opted to leave...just wondering if it is a very black and white thing with the SW as nervous about going in. Don't want my old employer dragged into it by them once I leave.

    Thanks!

13 weeks waiting on JSB, it was refused firstly and I sent in more information to get it reviewed. Made me so stressed and subsequently ill, I am now on Illness Benefit. Starting work hopefully in 6 weeks fingers crossed.

In one office in Meath, my average waiting time for JSA, coming off of Fas courses, first time claiming or coming off of BTEA was about 2 months.

In the Intreo office in Cavan, 3 days.

    Hi,

Does anyone have any idea of what the current length of time is to receive approval for the Jobseekers Allowance?

It's my first time applying for any benefit, and I submitted the completed forms to the local office on January 10th. They didn't give me any indication of how long it would take. I'm brassers, so anxious to get a timeframe on how long this will take.

    Cheers.
