Im renting a room in a flat, with three other people, beside my college. Its a 12 month lease, but i wont be there for the last 3 months, June, July and August, as I have been unable to secure employment for the summer, so I will head home. I put up ads looking for someone to sublet, but with no avail. Can I leave the room…

Its a 12 month lease, but i wont be there for the last 3 months, June, July and August, as I have been unable to secure employment for the summer, so I will head home. I put up ads looking for someone to sublet, but with no avail. Can I leave the room ,by giving a months notice? I rang ther landlord, but he said to talk to the tenant. It is her name on the lease. At the start of the year I didnt sign a lease, but paid a deposit. What are my options?
