Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    yeah running as administrator.

    have all the latest updates.

sometimes firefox wont die and sometimes its other processes like btornt.... sometimes its games.... sometimes iexplorer.

never ever had this problem with xp

bags of ram... bags of process or power... the machine is well equipt !

when i use taskkill /f - it reports that it has terminated the process... but its still there... if i run taskkill again... it reports its just terminated the same process id... but its still there. some apps wont open if they appear to be already running

the only solution i have found so far is to reboot

    hi,
tried process explorer, its seems to have a similar problem. it looks like its killing the process, but it doesnt.
see attached image (have admin privs)

seems really odd that there seems to be no way of killing this off without rebooting

so from procexp when you kill the process, are you saying that nothing happens, it just stays there?

hhmmmm, very unusual, ok, lets go a bit deeper. In procexp, double click the firefox process. One of the panes is called Threads. Any thread that the FF process has opened can be individually killed. Start at the top and try and isolate. If a thread cant be killed it should say, if we can identify which one then we might be able to find out what it is.

when i choose to kill the process or process tree, no message appears and the process remains.
in the screen shot of TASKKILL it shows a message saying "process ... terminated" but really it hasnt.

i'll dig deeper with the thread stuff next time it hangs
