drupal issue Access denied

    hi

    i am trying to setup drupal , i installed it , and logged in using the username and password , then changed my password and logged in again - i get the welcome page but when i click on the administration link i get
    "
    Access denied

    You are not authorized to access this page.

    why am i getting this - any help would be grateful
