also the consensus definitely is that Fixer is the worst thing on it and I'd nearly agree..here's a link to all the track previews together..give it a listen

Hate to say it but I'm finding Supersonic to be a bit Status Quo-esque and not really feelin the Fixer at the moment. Hope there are better tracks on the album.

Personally after Evolution, the video for The Fixer is my favourite, just brilliant.

Just cannot take to Supersonic at all. Have given it many listens and it does not stick with me at all. If any other band had released it, I would not have even given it so many tries.

The Fixer, on the other hand, I am really liking, and through a good sound system it sounds pretty cool.

Got Some I heard live and liked it. I heard The End and am still unsure on that.

Guess I am just gonna have to wait and see how it all fits together on the album before making my mind up.

    Kess-you're unsure about The End??

get yourself to an ear specialist quickly!!

it's the most beautiful song they've ever come up with..name a more beautiful Pj song? there isn't one honestly..

Jenn-theskyiscrape used to have an excel function where you put in what shows you'd seen and it's tell you what songs you'd seen, how many times etc..everyone misses that..it's only 10 minutes work to sit down and count them out though..

I'm still waiting on Oceans....and Strangest tribe :)

I'll be able to judge it better when I hear it on the album. I heard a poor quality live recording of it, so was not much to go on.

I always thought Soldier of Love would be great live. Turns out I was right :D

I'm excited for the album. I love what I've heard so far (The Fixer, Got Some, The End, and the various snippets). I wasn't sure about Supersonic, but it's been in my head for days so I think it's a grower. Looking forward to September 18th - does anyone know if I order it off iTunes, does it become available for download at midnight or thereabouts?

Itunes is a pain if you are looking to get it just past midnight.

Some releases are bang on, but most bigger releases can take until after midday on the release date before they become available to download.

I have been like you in the past, too impatient to wait until the next morning to get the cd in the shop, and have spend way too much time checking itunes over and over after midnight.

Hey guys if I preorder the album from 10C, when will I get it here in Cork? I want to get the cool 10C edition but I don't want to wait one day more than I have to! Any suggestions?!:o

10c are now shipping from...wait for it..(cos you *will* be)..New Zealand!

that being said, apparently the S/T release, people ahd their albums a few days before/on the day/very shortly after it's release. They're so completely unreliable and it seems there are a good few different versions of the cd..there's a tenclub one, a target one and HMV seem to have a different one too that comes with a poster so god only knows!

I'd say risk it but be prepared to have to buy it in yer local record shop too..

I got the 10c predorder as well but i'll expect it when I see it kinda thing. Hopefully they'll be on the ball with this but if previous form is anything to go by I wouldn't hold my breath.

i have been listening to pearl jam since i was 10. im the one who started this thread. they are my favorite band. no offense, but some of the people in here are crazy obsessed. jesus christ...i feel odd posting in here most of the time. who the hell buys 3 copies of an album??? who buys 1 anymore actually. its called downloading. get with the times people. and i dont want to hear about supporting the band or album art. the band makes most of its money from touring. so dont say if you download you dont support the band. if the band started giving me part of their paycheck then i would buy their album. until then, i have bills to pay.

I'm with you Tribesman - while I do travel a lot to see them, I wouldn't buy more than one copy of the album. The last time I bought a CD was when Avocado was released! I do enjoy PJ's artwork, and won't begrudge paying $10 or whatever it'll cost me to own it. If the album leaks I will download it.

And if you think we're obsessed, you should meet the people at the front of the queue with the LIST!

the last PJ album i bought was live at benaroya hall in 2005. to each their own. i just dont see the point in buying an album, but at the same time i understand why someone would want to. but **** is getting out of hand with these people literally touring the world with pearl jam. even if i were rich i wouldnt do that. 1-2 shows per tour is good enough for me. i dont think i want to meet the people at the front of the queue, lol. i need to find pictures from the tour in 2005. i got my photo taken in the parking lot while tailgating. it was put in an entertainment weekly article called "the diary of a pearl jam fan." if anyone has that let me know...im on one of the border pictures, lol.

I'm going to Seattle in two weeks to catch their two shows there. They'll be my 5th and 6th shows this year. Since I've become a PJ fan, I had it in my head that I had to go see them there the next time I could, in any way, afford it. I did two in 2006, 6 in 2007, 2 in 2008 (MSG in NY) and 6 this year. Some people have done 50+ shows in that space of time.

It's not just about going to see the band though. I had such an awesome time last month and I made some really good friends out of it. The craic, as they'd say, was mighty. I got to meet Stone, Boom and Eddie out of it too. It's also a great reason to go travelling

Some people just don't get it, but don't knock the ones that do.

i just find this behavior quite odd. but thats my opinion. to each their own. following a band around the world for pleasure seems abnormal. and i would never want to meet the band because id feel as if i were pissing them off and wasting their time. i dont think they really want to do stop and chats with thousands of people. its a job for them. let them relax in their free time
