Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    very nice indeed

    Shocked about Giggs and Berb.

If it's 4-4-2 with Fletcher on the right I'll be happy.

If it's Rooney on the left an Tevez up front alone I won't be.

Good United line-up. Great to Tevez start, same with Anderson. I would've liked to see Giggs start, but I suppose we've got the 'creativity in midfield' part covered if both Rooney and Tevez are starting,

Who's gonna play as the advanced midfielder for Arse. Fabregas, Nasri, or Diaby?

Surprised Berba doesn't start but I still fancy us to win it. Should be a great game. Come on United!

At least eamo can't give out about that team. Normally a moan about Tevez, Anderson, and scholes not playing. Only has one to moan about tonight.

Just thinking, Berbatov played (arguably) his game, or at least half, for United last weekend and gets benched after weeks of playing poorly and still starting. It's a funny old game :p

Suppose it can only improve his chances of getting the Champions League award for best overall player.

if i was an arsenal fan...i'd almost take a 2-1 loss.

    i repeat, almost.

i suspect that will be the result too.

    giles talking some rubbish here.

'utd would beat everyone if they didn't play players like berbatov'.

this isn't even entertaining analysis, just inept.

Is Eduardo not match fit? I'm surprised he's not playing if he is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,001 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Jeebus all the experts on here who berate somebody like John Giles, a former great, a former top division manager.

United need big games from Evra and O'Shea as its very likely Arsenal will use the wings, as John Giles said its very likely Fabregas will be closely marked all night.

he's played 3 first team games or something since he's come back from injury.

i suspect he ain't fully fit and/or ready.

if he talks cr*p like...'if utd didn't play players like berbatov they'd beat everybody' there's every reason to berate him tbf.

Giggs, infuriated by some posts on the PFA thread, to come off the bench and net a hat-trick scoring his third with his willy.

What experience have you got in top level management? Did you play top level football?

What makes you an expert on the game, or what qualifies you to say he is wrong?

Souness on skys panel tonight, he must be delighted to get away from dunph

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Quite happy with the line up, plenty of legs in the team. United will try to give Arsenal little or no time on the ball which is the right tactic.

Glad Tevez is playing instead of Berba TBH and I`m not a Berba hater.

He is. I'm just wondering why he's not starting. He should really be starting if he's match fit but maybe he's not.

Is it just me or has Ruud Gullit not said a word in the last ten mintues on Sky? It's like he's invisible or something.

    Oh wait there's a word.

Silvestre was interviewed there saying he felt there would be alot of goals in the match tonight. Must have been told early he would be starting :pac:

so you think utd would beat everyone if they didn't play berbatov?

i don't need to have played/managed at the top level to know he's talking through his hole with that one.

fergie is on a different planet to giles; he seems to think he needs berbatov in his team most weeks. who would you rather go with...giles or fergie?

    exactly.

I've never heard Ferguson as an analyst. Giles did explain that managers should never berate their own players, or did you miss that bit?

I think Giles actually said if United had 10/11 players with the work rate of Tevez..................

I think we should have a separate thread for people talking about the pundits. I feel left out :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

I'm glad to see Tevez starting this match. He brings much more to the game than Berbatov. It's not that Berbatov isn't a good player. He really has his moments of sheer quality and class but Tevez is a worker. He may not get a goal in this entire match but he'll get himself all around the pitch which is the most important thing that United need.

In fairness if you have seen 1 pre-game rte discussion you could probably fake your way through a conversation about any other 1.
