Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Carrick is infuriating, sometimes he can be absolutely magic, but in other matches, he can't do a thing right.

Almunia and Diaby have switched on hero mode. Unfortunately for them, the other nine players haven't turned up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Arsenal hanging on by the skin of their teeth. Ronaldo should have scored that though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,964 ✭✭✭Podge2k7

    Close from ronaldo.

Almunia is putting himself in the picture for the England job with this performance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Arsenal are getting destroyed out here. Gibbs is totally exposed on the left wing. Not entirely his fault as Diaby isn't doing a tap to help him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭ROCKMAN

Almunia having a cracker at the moment ,

    JINKS pleassssssssssssse

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,001 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Arsenal are unable to stop United going through the middle but the bigger problem is that young right back, he is getting eaten alive out there.

    Tevez didn't deserve the yellow...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭ROCKMAN

Yellow for TEVEZ totally crap. 50/50

Arsenal woeful so far. When UTD have the ball Arsenal just move in waves towards it, no marking or holding position. Arsenal holding the ball now so hopefully they can do somethin with it.

if Wenger plays 4-4-2 it will be tight.

If Wenger plays 4-5-1, I think the contest will be over before the second leg.

    *cough*

Wenger needs to switch to 4-4-2.... they can't play that formation.

It's a terrible day when a keeper is in line for man of the match
remember when given kept getting it for Ireland bad times

Didn't realise Anderson had that much pace.

    United simply want this more.

yes because even with 3 across the middle they cant match utd in midfield, surely 2 will in the middle with fix that ;)

the absence of ven persie is the main problem for the gunners

Don't think Fletcher has been convincing at all, wonder will Scholes make an appearance for him in the second half.

They couldn't match Liverpool in midfield either, or Chelsea. However, the performance when he switched to 4-4-2 in the Liverpol match, changed the game.

It isn't about any one player missing, it's about the players all being uncomfortable and confused in their roles in that formation.

United's early pressure seems to have fizzed away. Arsenal now are slowly coming back into it. They haven't been amazing but they've been getting some good decent possession in the United half.

Second half will surely bring out a different Arsenal team. I'd like to see it from a neutral point of view.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,155 ✭✭✭juvenal

Tevez should never have gotten a yellow for that 50/50 challenge on Almunia - but hardly surprising.

O'Shea is making huge ground down the right flank with Ronaldo pulling Gibbs inside.

Adebayor should have gotten a yellow for the deliberate handball as he was challenging with Vidic.

Arsenal are fully capable of scoring, and if Utd insist on sitting back and letting them into the game, they could be caught out.

offside.. not like anderson would've scored anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭ROCKMAN

GRRRRRRR Anderson was onside ,sorry pocket talking :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,430 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

I almost expect Arsenal to get a scabby goal and undo all our good work

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

I think Walcott could have taken that on himself. Might have been the better option.

Sign of things to come from Arsenal in the second half maybe?

Should be 3 or 4 nil, Arsenal were saved by Almunia

aye your right archavins 4 goals had nothing to do with it
+ if van persie was fit ade and him wud definately be playing, arsenal have no other real striker

anyway arsenal seem to be coming back into it, but are lacking a cutting edge in the final third

Arsenal's left hand side is so exposed.

Still think they will get the all important away goal

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Arsenal or Wenger should be shot, does he actually tell them to walk the ball into the net?

The home crowd are full of class, not.

Arsenal getting into the game is more down to Utd taking a breather and sitting back a bit , fully expect Utd to rise the tempo again in the second half , We need a second to take to the emirates.

What in the name of ****ing god is Wenger at? Fabregas as an AM, Nasri as a DM, Diaby on the wing?!?!?

Adebayor is like Drogba last night, far too isolated for anyone to get onto his flick-on's.

Gibbs is only having a 'mare because any time United attack, it's always 2 on 1. Diaby hasn't once tracked back to help.

    Almunia is magic.

To be honest, Arsenal don't look too bothered. They've been second in all the 50:50's and haven't closed down like United have.

United's "front three" have squandered a lot.
