Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I am looking for an entry level photo printer, nothing too amazing just want to be able to print a few photos now and again. I see tesco is selling the Pixma ip1900 for 40 euro, is this a good choice (http://www.canon.ie/For_Home/Product_Finder/Printers/Inkjet/PIXMA_iP1900/index.asp) or would I be better off getting one of the selphy printers for slightly more (60 euro)?

any suggestions would be very appreciated,
    Thanks

if you want to do A4 size prints it may be ok, but it only uses 4 inks so it wont be very good at b&w

I don't have a photo printer but from what I know these things end up costing you a fortune.

I notice my local Tesco have the printing machines for photos and have been debating getting a few shots done there. (Think it ends up being 25 - 35 cents a photo)

I always find with colour printers the ink dries up ... you have to replace 2 or 4 cartridges depending on the printer as well or you may just end up using one colour out of it then end up with the cartridge being useless.

Cartridges usually seem to be expensive enough you've got to ensure the printer is clean and so on. Though maybe people can correct me on this. Seems like a lot of hastle if you're just doing a few shots from time to time.

As far as i know you can do a printer test where you can get a 6x4 printed on a selected printer and sent to you..Can't remeber the link though

My own view is not to buy the printer for photo printing !!

Both paper and ink are quite expensive. Cheaper to get printed at most outlets.
