Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

New HD boxes and new EPG

Hi, just wondering if I order Sky HD will I get the new epg preloaded?

If not, does it have to be connected by phone to receive the update as I don't have a phone line or does it pull it over the satellite?

Another Q, if I'm not happy with the HD channels, can I cancel HD sub and keep hd box with new epg?

At the moment there is no installation fee and box is €50 plus 37 for no phone line install, whereas sky+ box is 25 and 50 for installation and 37 for no phone line.

Thanks, and by the way I'll be a new customer if that makes a difference

You cann't cancel HD untill the contract is up, I tried. The HD box connected via HDMI gives me a fantastic picture regardless of the HD channels or not, esp with any recently produced TV program. I could always see a slight skake in things like the EPG when connected via SCART.

    Thanks,
Ya I won't have sky sports or movies for the foreseeable future anyway so thats why I was thinking I might be cancelling the subscription, but I want the HD box for the better picture quality and now for the better EPG.

What about the update for the EPG, over phone or over the satellite?
I asked the local kiosk but they didn't even know about the update but I'm sure the installers/engineers would know, just not the staff at the counter.

    Satellite.

I think my 12 months HD sub is up now. If I do cancel I'm guessing the Sky Anytime will still be full of HD programmes that I then won't be able to watch?

That's a problem because I use the Anytime a lot for movies and stuff on Discovery or National Gio.

Another question - if I used the €15 saving to get Sky in another room can I only use the basic box for the €15 a month (would I have to pay extra to get a Sky+ box in the other room)?

    Cheers.

No if you get multi room you do not pay extra for the + facility..... however if you wanted to get HD in a second room you would have to pay for an additional HD sub, its either an extra 15 or 7.50... not sure which..
