    Not just for game anglers.

    Everybody should have a look at this.
    The problems we have in Ireland (and are still in denial at some official levels) are even more dire in certain other countries.

    It's good the ordinary local people are beginning to fight the PR battle against industry. Big fish farming business has been allowed to justify their dubious practises unchallenged in the main until now.

    Though this video is made for pacific salmon. Everything in it applies to our Irish seatrout and their 90% reduction in numbers over the last 15 years.
    At least our Atlantic salmon are bigger when their young ones go to sea, and they are more able to survive this fish farm origin problem. The farm diseases are another issue however. Irish salmon have dodged that particular bullet in almost miraculous fashion so far.

    Scottish wild river stocks have however been infected with the anemic disease ISA, which Norwegian fish farms (based in Scotland) have had problems with. Anybody know who owns the big salmon farms off the Irish coast?
