    Hey ,
I got a new PC built ... looks like ill have to bring the box back ...

i paid for 6GB RAM, there seems to be only 4, I have 64 bit Vista so if there is 6 it should see it ...

I can't open the box cos ill break the warranty .. :(

anyway , is there any app i can run that will give me a system summary ?

just in case im missing something ..

Is it just me or does that seem very odd? I've never owned a pc that stipulated i couldn't open the case.

    100% sure its 64bit vista?

silly question I know but still. if cpu-z is reading 6 there's something amiss

well cpu-z is a commonly used program , What config does it say your ram is in . Is it 3* 2gb sticks ??
As in how many sticks of ram are in the comp cpu-z should tell you and which slots they are in .
Are you getting any blue screens ?

Oh can you go into "my computer" then "control panel" and then "System"
What windows edition does it say ? and further down that screen
    it should list Memory(RAM)
and System Type (this will say 64bit if it is )

What does it say for Memory and system type?

Maybe it's a Mac! ;) That is very odd indeed.

Sounds like the OP ordered 64 bit and they installed 32 bit.
Wasn't there a thread here recently with exactly that problem?
