Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Probably common knowledge, but I'm a bit slow :)

    Am looking to get myself a home cinema set up - can 360 sound run through any package 5.1 deal or does the DVD player need a special connection I should be aware of.

    Basicaly I want to get a home cinema kit and play my 360 through it, is this possible on most setups?

    If you're using a component cable, it has an Optical out connection. Get an optical cable from any electronics store for under €10 and plug it into the back of your surround system. Just make sure that your surround system has an Optical in as part of it. Otherwise you'll be using the standard L/R (red and white) connectors which only allow for simulated surround sound through Dolby Pro Logic.

    If your Xbox has the HDMI connection, you can simply hook this up to your surround sound system and then use the HDMI out to go into your TV.

    I have a logitech x-540 5.1 setup with my xbox and a projector. great sound and huge screen, 100"+ ...

    the x-540 system takes standard 2 line audio and converts it to 5.1 with matrix mode.

    only cost €100. well worth it!

    <edit>

    just looked at the Logitech Z-5500 think I may upgrade soon. looks very good.
