Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd be very interested in knowing what you did there, if you have the time. Thanks

Oh jesus, lol. Long list! :D hope I can remember exactly what I did.

First things first, the numberplate was annoying me so I decided to get rid of it. Luckily it wasn't too hard, just a few minutes with the clone tool at 300-400% zoom and then a quick run over with the blur tool to (badly) disguise any traces that it'd been tampered with.

After that, I ran a topaz adjust (Clarity preset) filter.

Then I decided it was a bit too bright still...so added a b&w(IR) adjustment layer, played around with layer options and eventually settled on multiply.

Then I added a Levels (add contrast preset) and lowered the opacity to 70%

I was happy enough with that, but then the pole in the right was bugging me. So about 20 minutes with a clone tool got rid of that completely, and the reflection on the car too.

Then a bit of dodging and burning in places, small bit of work on the tyres and upping the saturation of the red on the brake calipers.

    File -> save as

    :D Think that's it.

/edit: oh, forgot about the small crop just to remove some annoying obsticles in the far left.

I have two glass suction clamps which I fitted clamps to, these hold an extension pole (normally used for paint rollers) which I modified to take a tripod head. The suction clamps would be a big investment, luckily I had a set at work ;)

Thats a niche rig. I would appreciate some more details and close shots of the rig. So that I can try and work out something similar for myself. :)

Lol, were down by port one evening and took a detour over the top of the hill and back in the back road to ardara, well spotted mrmac!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,967 ✭✭✭mrmac

I was down that way in March for a week. Stayed in Narin, and went to the St. Pats parade in Ardara. Went out past that waterfall looking for the caves, didn't find any :(

Did you drive up Slieve League

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,852 ✭✭✭homer simpson

Sure was it was a cracking day too, been ages since i've been down that way, plesently surprised to find the road up to the upper car park widened and chipped, i wasn't driving anyways so it didn't bother me:P

There is caves out there but you've to walk to them, there is a wee hut thing about 1 mile past the waterfall where you have to walk from think your charged could be wrong though.

    pics of sleive league here!
