    Hey All

Was thinking about buying a HD DVD recorder yoke and came across this HDD Media Player when doing a bit of research.

Just wondering if anyone has experience of them. It has a hard drive in it can can be used for video, pictures, music etc. I presume it also records from the tele?

You choose the size of HD you want and off you go. All in about $150 when you include the price of the Hard Drive

    Thanks a mill

I have a Freecom one and can say that im very disappointed with it and just use it as an external harddrive now. Thing is tho is that my one, and the one you linked to are all part of the same dodgy korean/hong kong line and are extremely tacky and cheaply made. If you want actual quality, Western Digital have one out now but it doesn't come with the harddrive, same goes for Popcorn Hour which are also a good brand. You seriously wouldn't want to spend less that €200 on one of these devices. Hope I helped.

I got one off eBay before for just under €200 (search for Cyclone Media Player). It's 1TB and I have yet to have a problem with it.

Personally, I reckon in the next decade it will have surpassed DVDs and renting films will just involve you going to XtraVision with your memory stick.

I've read about issues people have had with these things in general, and how the Audio/Video sync is often knocked off and so forth, but i've yet to experience this myself. I'd recommend them.

this is the unit to get along with a 1tb drive - possibly from wd also.

just plug the 1tb into the wd-tv box and watch full hd movies thru hdmi.
    or avi's or music etc
lads in work have about 8 of these units and they are great - and future proof for the basic needs of home movies on a hard drive.

    well worth the 200euro
the other media drives on ebay have cheap hd's in them - and can fail very easily.
