ECDL - GOOD COURSE, GOOD TRAINER

    Just a note to say I completed a recent ECDL course at ITB. It was €500.00 all in and while NO COURSE MANUAL is provided - photocopies of each step of the programme are. Borrow the manual from someone or pick it up second hand...I used one from 2004 and it was FINE - you'll never read everything in it-good as a reference book.

    Everyone had their own workstation and keyboard and the classes were 3 hours 6.30pm -9.30pm once a week from Sept - Feb.

    The course was taught to suit Microsoft Office 2003 as this is still the most popular package among most businesses.

    Mr. Stephen White was our instructor. He described his background as IT and indeed, was employed in the University's IT Department. I found him an excellent source of information and very happy to answer ALL questions. Gave us his email also and was very good about getting back with any queries. Exams were well spaced out and review opportunities were good. Age group averaged (and I am guessing because we all LOOKED about 21) 25 to 60 (MAYBE???). It was a bit like a Marco Pierre White aptmosphere - we were all in there to pass and the bulk of students who survived to the last exam were like an extended family - in little groups but very supportive of each other in word and smile.

    Very good location - close to the Industrial Parks and Blanchardstown.
