Sorry if this is the wrong forum - doesn't really seem to fit in long term illness or in biology/medicine forums.
    Anyway.

I've been referred by GP to a back pain screening clinic in Tallaght Hospital.

Is anybody here familiar with that clinic - how long is the waiting list, what sort of screening is it?

    Thanks

I'm unsure if your GP referred you to the same clinic in Tallaght as I was but if so you may see a consultant called Dr. Kane. That is if you can wait 2 years for an urgent case or 4-5 years for routine inspection. BTW those are the figures given to me by Tallaght hospital themselves. They are not an exaggeration. The definition of urgent does include suspected cancer as I queried it directly with them. Hope its a different clinic/consultant.

I attended the Back Screening Clinic in Tallaght late last year. My GP referred me, wasn't waiting too long for an appointment (approx. 2-3 weeks). Firstly, I was seen by a back specialist to see if I needed physio, thankfully I didn't. She gave me a list of excercises to do to help the pain etc. Not sure how long I would have been waiting to see a physio?
    Best of luck with it!
