Adding more memory newbie!

My sister has a Dell Optiplex and whereas it has a 2.4ghz processor it only has a measly 256mb memory. Can I upgrade the memory? Is it expensive to buy? Do I have to open up the desktop to install it? Generally any advice would be much appreciated. Never done this before....are there any online guides?

try this site. you don't have to buy off them but the tool will let you know whats compatable.

you will have to open the case to install it but it's child's play. you can find a tutorial anywhere.

just make sure you get the compatabilty right.

Obviously you have to run the tool from your sister's machine!
