    Four new fights for DREAM.9 have been announced. An open-weight tournament called “Super Hulk Tournament ~World Superman Championship~” will commence at the event with Minowaman taking on Bob Sapp, Sokoudjou facing K-1 & MMA veteran Jan “The Giant” Nortje, Gegard Mousasi taking on Mark Hunt, and Choi Hong Man fighting former Baseball player Jose Canseco.

    More details to come.

    Update #1: These 4 fights complete the DREAM.9 card.

    HEIWA DREAM.9 Featherweight GP 2009 2nd Round
    Date: May 26th, 2009
    Place: Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan

    Super Hulk Tournament 1st Round Fights:
    Minowaman vs. Bob Sapp

    nice idea, shame about the choice of fighters.

    Could have been worked well as full open weight gp as there could have been some great match ups made :(

    That said the Jap's do love a spectacle........ as do I so i will look forward to this, as this is normally a quality event over all.

    I'm guessing that this is a sort of last ditch effort at getting people back watching MMA in Japan. I hope that it works, because it'll mean better opportunities for fighters if it does

    I just don't want a Sapp/Nortje rematch. I stayed up to see them live. Sapp crumbled, it was terrible for them both

    Canseco fought a couple of celebrity boxing matches, and lost, I think.
    This is his mma debut.

    Canseco so rumour has it went out and got a load of black belts in a few months of training. he then got knocked out by some other celeb in the first round of his first fight

    Just saw the novelty fights there in low quality but they were entertaining. Bob sapp looked a lot better on the ground, he had a number of submissions. I'm not sure he'll get Lashley in those positions though.

    Sokojudo is a prick, 6 punches after the bell. I'd love to see Sefo knock him out.

    Sokoudjou should be banned from the sport for that. Absolutely disgraceful.

    Surprising to hear the commentators defending Miller too. A blatantly illegal kick.

    Kid Yamamoto needs to work on his ground game.

    All in all, it was an entertaining enough card and I'll definitely watch the rest of the Super Hulk Spider Bat Wonder Hawk Woman Tournament!

    A couple of great fights, a couple of sham matchups and a very disappointing end to the night. I thought I liked Miller - perhaps he's more of an idiot than I had anticipated. Canceco had his girlfriend as his corner-person:eek:
